China again blocks bid for UN ban on LeT terrorist
For the fourth time since June this year, China has put on hold a US-India proposal for a UN ban on a Pakistan-based operative of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The proposal came days before the ongoing FATF meeting which may see Pakistan exiting the grey or increased monitoring list of the global terror-financing watchdog.

13 poll trusts declare funding, BJP gets 72%
Five electoral trusts together disbursed 72% of their total contributions of over Rs 481 crore to BJP in 2021-22, while Congress received a mere 3.8% share of this pie. Of the Rs 481 crore contributions declared by the five in their latest reports to the Election Commission, Prudent Electoral Trust led with disbursals worth Rs 464.8 crore to eight parties, including Rs 336.5 crore to BJP and Rs 18.4 crore to Congress.

The Uttarkhand helicopter crash which killed seven people on Tuesday and the Pawan Hans offshore accident near Bombay High that killed four people four months ago have quite a few similarities, pointed out industry experts. Both the accidents involved senior pilots who had recently moved on to flying a new aircraft type and so were low on experience on the machine that crashed.

Amul milk prices up, Guj spared; Mother Dairy too hikes rates
Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which markets milk under the Amul brand, has hiked the prices of Amul Gold (full cream) and buffalo milk by Rs 2 per litre each across all markets except for Gujarat. Mother Dairy also announced an increase in prices of full-cream milk and cow milk by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR and some other markets in North India with effect from October 16.

Irdai fines Max Life ₹3 crore for Axis Bank deal
Insurance regulator Irdai has imposed a Rs 3-crore penalty on Max Life for its share sale deal with Axis Bank, which the regulator said circumvented regulations on commission limits.
