As China lifts hold, UNSC lists Makki as global terrorist

Pakistan-based leader of UN proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Abdul Rehman Makki, who is also the brother-in-law of most wanted Hafiz Saeed, was designated a global terrorist by the UN Security Council after China dropped its technical hold over a proposal to list him under the UNSC's ISIL (Da'esh) and Al Qaida Sanctions Committee.

Joshimath sinking: Question mark hangs over Badrinath yatra

Joshimath is regarded as the gateway and the only route to the holy town of Badrinath. But after several places in Joshimath were put under the "danger zone" category, questions are now being raised on the road to be taken to the popular shrine.
