Bajrang Dal member Bittu Bajrangi, who had posted a provocative video preceding communal clashes on 31 July and was out on bail, has been arrested again. This time, the Nuh police has arrested him for allegedly carrying arms and rioting on the day of the event. The FIR claims he and his supporters carried swords to a temple in Nuh on 31 July.

Police medals for bravery in fighting left-wing extremism in India are more numerous than for counter-terrorism operations in J&K, repeating the same trend witnessed earlier this year on Republic Day. Bailey bridge near LAC collapses after heavy rain

A bailey bridge located over Chorgad river at Nelong valley region of Gangotri national park (GNP) in Uttarkashi district has collapsed after its embankment got washed away due to the recent heavy rainfall. As per sources, the footbridge is important for the Indian Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) as it connects Uttarkashi to the Indo-China border via Himachal Pradesh, and is used for long-range patrolling. Forest guards and local shepherds also use the bridge.
