Denying that there was anything unusual about Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin not coming for the G20 summit, foreign minister S Jaishankar said their absence had nothing to do with India and that “everybody is coming with a great deal of seriousness”. China will be represented by premier Li Qiang and Russia will have foreign minister Sergey Lavrov attending.

SC: India's statute, not J&K's, let Parliament make laws for J&K

J&K reinstates lecturer suspended over SC appearance in Article 370 case

Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, a government higher secondary school lecturer who had been punished for appearing before the Supreme Court to advocate against the repeal of Article 370, was suspended just days after the Constitution bench hearing the petitions questioned whether the penalty against him was "retribution." Bhat, who teaches political science at a state-run higher secondary school in Srinagar's Jawahar Nagar and also holds a law degree, was referred to as a "delinquent officer" when he was suspended on August 25.
