A resident of Budh Nagar Khandwa in UP's Chandausi from where the minister was elected in the 2022 polls, Rana, who usually raises local civic issues via his YouTube channel, was arrested following an FIR lodged by a local youth-wing member of BJP. He was then slapped with charges under IPC Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
