The law commission has sought the views of the ministry of women and child development on the much-debated issue of reviewing the “age of consent” citing references received from the high courts of Karnataka and MP. This will have a bearing on provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and other laws concerning minors.
