The Indian Army is enhancing its strike, surveillance, and airlift capabilities by inducting various helicopters, drones, and missiles. Plans are underway to induct 126 light utility helicopters, 90 combat choppers, six heavy-duty Apache gunships, and 25 advanced light helicopters. The Army Aviation Corps is also setting up additional integrated aviation brigades. The old Cheetah and Chetak helicopters will be retired and replaced with new light utility helicopters. The recent induction of Israeli drones has boosted strategic surveillance along the Line of Actual Control.
