Bathinda SP suspended 22 months after PM’s security breach

Bathinda SP (investigations) Gurwinder Singh Sangha has been suspended for dereliction of duty resulting in a security breach during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on January 5, 2022. Sangha, who was then SP (operations) at Ferozepur, received the suspension orders this November 22, more than 22 months after the security lapse. Besides the Bathinda SP, action has been taken against at least six other police officers of DSP rank and below, sources said.
