India & China skip renewable pledge, 118 nations sign

India and China abstained from a pledge at the CO summit to triple global renewable energy generation capacity and double energy efficiency by 2030, aligning with India's stance to prioritize coal-fired power plants. India maintains that it does not want to compromise on power availability for economic growth and has kept the option to use coal until 2030.
