Infiltration bid foiled in Akhnoor, 1 killed

The Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt from Pakistan along the border in the Akhnoor area of Jammu. The incident occurred during extensive search operations to apprehend terrorists responsible for ambushing and killing four soldiers in Poonch, approximately 200 km away. This marks at least the fourth foiled infiltration attempt in the Poonch-Rajouri region since late May, with previous instances leading to the death or capture of intruders, including the apprehension of three terrorists on May 31 with a significant cache of arms, explosives, and suspected heroin.
