India is expected to become the world's largest producer of lentils in the 2023-24 crop year, with an estimated surge in production of around 16 lakh tonne. This increase is due to higher acreage. The lentil production in Canada and Australia is estimated to be around 14 lakh tonne and 15 lakh tonne respectively.
