MP, MLA immunity important, but graft is another matter: SC

The Supreme Court of India has stated that it will not limit the immunity and privileges enjoyed by MPs and MLAs for their actions within Parliament or assembly. However, the court will review a 25-year-old ruling to determine if lawmakers involved in "cash-for-vote" corruption should be protected by these privileges. The outcome of this review appears to be leaning towards treating bribery as a separate offense unrelated to legislative immunity.
