Humza Yousaf, the first minister of Scotland of Pakistani descent, was filled with emotion when he declared his resignation on Monday before facing two no-confidence votes scheduled for this week, one against him and one against his government. The Tories and Labour proposed the motions after Yousaf, aged 39, unexpectedly ended the power-sharing cooperation agreement between his party, SNP, and the Greens.
