Ethics panel exceeded brief: Mahua Moitra

The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha has sent a report to the Speaker recommending the disqualification of TMC MP Mahua Moitra in connection with the 'cash for query' scam. Moitra denies any involvement in the alleged cash or gift transactions and claims that the committee exceeded its mandate by recommending her expulsion. The Speaker is expected to take action on the report when he returns to the capital on November 14. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who filed the complaint, argues that Moitra's admission of sharing her OTP compromises national security.
